Garel Network

Garel Network
The underground organization in France named after its leader, Georges Garel. Garel was a member of the Children’s Aid Society, a worldwide Jewish organization committed to health care and the welfare of children. In the summer of 1942, the agency organized the Garel network with the objective of placing Jewish children with Christian families or with religious institutions involved in saving Jews. The Garel network, with the support of the Catholic and Protestant hierarchy, was responsible for saving the lives of thousands of Jewish children, as well as transferring a thousand more to Switzerland.
